    2. 45 ECTS prerequisites (all Bangladeshi applicants need these unless from a named Estonian programme): higher maths 6, physics 6, programming 6, computer hardware 3, electronics/computer engineering/informatics ≥24.
    3. Online entry test (compulsory for most foreign applicants) — testid.ut.ee, 2026 window 11–16 Apr, one attempt only (no resume, no going back), 30 questions, 137 min, max 100 pts, min 51 to pass. Only sit the test if motivation letter scored ≥51.

UT Application Process (non-EU)

Via DreamApply, due 15 March: application form, motivation letter, certified bachelor’s diploma + transcript (with grading scale explained) + certified English translations, English proof, passport bio page, €100 fee receipt (application not processed without it). Certification must be original signature/seal (issuing institution, notary, or Apostille) — no copies-of-copies.

  • Results by 30 Apr; 7 days to accept/decline; hard copies must reach Tartu within 3 weeks.
  • Non-EU students pre-pay half of sem-1 tuition (€1,800); rest due 20 Sep. Visa admission letter issued only after pre-payment (e-letter is enough for the embassy).
  • Must get the long-term visa in time for orientation (last week of Aug) and register in person by 31 Aug, or the offer + visa are revoked. No deferrals.
  • UT has no official agent partnerships — apply directly; if using an agency, use your own contact details.

Every dated stage in this roadmap is the most recently completed cycle (targeting a September 2026 start), translated forward by one year as a planning estimate, and is explicitly labeled “(2026-cycle reference, translated +1 year to 2027 — verify once each portal opens)”. Re-verify every date directly on each university’s site before relying on it for a real deadline.

Accepted English Tests — Flat Answer

Sit IELTS Academic or TOEFL iBT. Tuition Payment — Sequencing

  1. Neither UT nor TLU publishes an exact tuition due-date relative to the admission offer — unlike Denmark’s universities, the pages retrieved only confirm annual/2-year totals, not a precise “pay by ” rule. Confirm the exact due date directly with UT’s or TLU’s finance office once an offer is in hand before relying on any payment timeline for AD-bank or D-visa planning.
  2. Pay first-year tuition before the D-visa application so the AD-bank payment receipt can be used as funds evidence (see “Bangladesh-Specific Visa Path” below).
  3. If scholarship-funded (AISS / CYBERUS), tuition is waived entirely — see scholarship.md for those two Erasmus Mundus routes; do not remit tuition until the scholarship outcome is known.

Bangladesh-Specific Visa Path

  1. Bangladesh Bank Student File (AD bank). Open a Student File with: admission letter, tuition invoice (with the university’s IBAN/SWIFT — UT and TLU both bank with Estonian institutions such as SEB Pank, Swedbank, or Luminor Bank), attested academic certificates, sponsor’s tax documents (IT-10B/tax return). The bank remits tuition and issues a payment receipt (see tuition.md §13).
  2. D-visa online application via the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal, followed by booking an in-person appointment at broneering.mfa.ee. State fee: €120 ([Estonian MFA, as cited in visa.md §12]; not independently re-confirmed on the MFA fee schedule in this session’s research pass — verify before paying).
  3. Embassy jurisdiction — confirmed working assumption, with a caveat. visa.md establishes, via the Embassy of Estonia in New Delhi’s own Bangladesh-facing page, that Bangladeshi applicants must submit the D-visa application in person at the Embassy of Estonia in New Delhi, since Bangladesh has no Estonian mission and the German Embassy in Dhaka (which represents Estonia for short-stay Schengen visas) explicitly cannot issue long-stay D-visas.
