Tuition Payment — Sequencing

Per-university tuition amounts, application fees, and exact first-payment due dates are maintained in university-list.md (Summary Table + each university’s “Tuition fee” and “Tuition payment timing” entries) — not re-printed here to avoid drift between documents. What matters for sequencing:

  1. None of the 5 universities requires a full-year lump-sum payment up front — all bill per semester (RUC’s page states the full-program figure but still invoices semester-by-semester with no in-semester instalments). The first semester’s payment is what “locks in” enrolment.
  2. That first-semester payment doubles as SIRI funds proof — paying it through the Bangladesh Bank Student File produces the receipt SIRI accepts in place of the DKK 7,426/month (DKK 89,112/year) funds-documentation requirement (see “Bangladesh-Specific Visa Path” below).
  3. Watch the per-university timing differences (exact dates in university-list.md): DTU requires payment by 1 May; KU’s first semester is due 15 Apr; ITU is 5 Jan / 5 Aug (with an unreconciled “June” first-payment claim — confirm with ITU); AAU is ~2 weeks after the offer / ~1 Aug under the general rule; RUC is per the admission-letter deadline (admission annulled if unpaid).

Bangladesh-Specific Visa Path

  1. Bangladesh Bank Student File (AD bank). Open a Student File with: admission letter, tuition invoice, attested academic certificates, and sponsor’s tax documents (IT-10B/tax return). The bank remits the first semester’s tuition (DKK/EUR) to the university and issues a payment receipt (tuition.md §13).
  2. This receipt substitutes for SIRI’s standard funds-documentation requirement — paying the first semester’s tuition through the Student File removes the need to separately show DKK 89,112 in personal funds (nyidanmark.dk — Higher Education).
  3. SIRI online study-permit application (nyidanmark.dk): create a case order ID → pay the processing fee (DKK 3,060, 2026 level) → complete form ST1 (the school completes Part 1; the applicant completes Part 2) → submit online with the tuition-payment receipt attached as funds proof.
  4. Biometrics at VFS Global Dhaka, required within 14 days of the SIRI online submission, at a Danish mission location in Dhaka.
  5. SIRI decision: typically ~2 months, up to 3 months if SIRI requests additional information.

Current SIRI figures (2026, re-checked this session):

These figures supersede the older DKK 2,170 fee / DKK 80,328 annual-funds figures (now updated in tuition.md) — university-list.md already flagged this as the more current, live 2 August 2026 reading; this roadmap uses the newer figures throughout (nyidanmark.dk — Higher Education).

Bangladesh embassy (Dhaka) page — scope gap: the Royal Danish Embassy Dhaka’s study-permit page (bangladesh.um.dk) documents the ST1 form split (school/applicant parts) and an optional blocked-bank-account route, but does not itself document the VFS Dhaka biometrics steps, attestation/legalization requirements, or its own processing time. The embassy page also quotes a DKK 50,000 figure for its optional blocked-account route — this differs from SIRI’s current DKK 89,112 funds-documentation cap and is likely an older or alternate-route figure; not reconciled within this research pass, re-verify at filing time.

VFS Global biometric fee: VFS Global’s Bangladesh one-pager (visa.vfsglobal.com/one-pager/denmark/Bangladesh/english) returned a 403 error when fetched for this document and could not be scraped for the exact biometric service fee. Verify the exact fee directly on the VFS site before filing.
